Welcome Martin County Fair

A great group from the Martin County Fair attended the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention this year and were impressed with what Saffire had to offer. With their excitement toward change and their awesomely hilarious staff, the feeling was definitely mutual. Not to mention, they have a fellow Aggie on their team! We’re looking forward to helping this team rebrand their online marketing and make a splash online!

Welcome South Florida Fair

Florida is quickly proving to be one of those states that we just can’t get enough of, and we’re so thrilled that our momentum there is still going strong! We met the talented marketing team of the South Florida Fair at last year’s Florida Federation of Fairs Convention and have had the pleasure of visiting with them at various other conventions since. We can’t wait to see the results of this creative team combined with the robust online marketing tools that Saffire provides.

Welcome Barbecue Hall of Fame

AmericanRoyalBBQHOFThe Barbecue Hall of Fame joined the Saffire Family this summer as it’s an event hosted at the American Royal in Kansas City, MO another one of our awesome Saffire clients! This organization exists to honor, recognize and preserve the heritage of barbecue. With annual inductees to the Hall of Fame and a ceremony during American Royal, this great institution recognizes accomplishments in three areas of barbecue: Business/Industry, Pitmaster, and Celebrity/Humanitarian.  We are thrilled to continue working with these folks on a new adventure!

Welcome Mallet Event Center

We are so excited to add another arena to our client list! The Mallet Event Center & Arena in Levelland, Texas is the newest edition to the Saffire Family. We first met these folks back in 2013, and remained Saffire friends until this year when they were able to make the decision to take their online marketing to the next level. We could not be more thrilled to welcome them aboard!

Welcome Visit Navasota

We are thrilled to announce our newest destination client, the City of Navasota. We met just a couple of weeks ago at the Texas Festivals & Events Association Convention and quickly knew we’d found a great new match for the Saffire Family! This historic town, located between College Station & Houston, TX is ready to take their online marketing to the next level!

Welcome Bonner County Fair

We met the manager of the Bonner County Fair at an IAFE Convention in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. After a strong referral from one of our Washington clients this past December, this county fair from Sandpoint, ID decided to join the Saffire family. In less than 7 weeks this team was able to create a brand new website from scratch as they had previously only had a single page on the county’s site. With great focus and commitment to make their best online marketing effort this year, www.bonnercountyfair.com is a site to be proud of!

Target Practice: The Importance of Having a Target Audience

In honor of our attendance at the upcoming IAVM VenueConnect Conference, we thought it would be a good time to talk about the importance of having a target audience when it comes to your online marketing. This is especially true if you have a variety of events that attract very different groups of people. Whether you’re pulling in tweens for a Selena Gomez concert, or pulling in old school rockers for a Kansas reunion, the most important thing to remember is to go where your audience goes. Here are a few tips to make sure that you’re getting the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to online marketing for your events.

  • Go where your audience goes. We’re saying it twice, so you know it’s important! It may seem obvious, but different age groups are going to be more inclined to use different online avenues. This is especially true when it comes to social media. Teens and young adults have a tendency to gravitate towards Instagram rather than Facebook, while adults aged 30+ are all about Facebook. When you’re thinking about the best way to advertise an event, you need to be seen where your target audience is looking. Whether you believe in the value of social media or not, you miss out on reaching a huge segment of your audience when you choose to opt out of being present on social media.
  • Pay to play. We’re talking about Facebook here! Facebook has made it extremely difficult for businesses to reach their fans; only an average of 3% of your fans will  see your posts if you don’t pay to advertise. The great thing about Facebook advertising is that they have some insanely in-depth audience targeting options. From specific purchasing behavior, to moms with kids of a certain age, the choices make it nearly impossible not to select the exact characteristics you want in an audience. By targeting your ads to the people you want to reach most, you are less likely to waste money reaching people who might find what you’re promoting irrelevant.
  • Segment your email list. Email marketing is a must! We might be preaching to the choir now, but email is still the most cost effective way to drive online sales. However, you can really take your email marketing to the next level by segmenting your lists by interest or age group. A great way to do this is to have an email sign-up list on your website that allows users to select what they’re most interested in (concerts, outdoor events, competitive events, etc.).
  • Do your research. Some events or concerts have a very obvious audience, but others may require an extra step from you. Whether you’re paying attention to numbers from a similar past event or going to Google to figure out a performer’s fan-base, you need to be in-the-know of exactly who is interested in the event you’re promoting. Don’t play the guessing game, because that only wastes your money!

Whether you’re a venue with 150+ events a year, or a single event with multiple attractions, you should be targeting your audiences online! It’s the best way to be relevant and save yourself from spending unnecessary money. No matter what type of event you have, the ultimate goal is to get butts in seats! So give yourself the best chance of filling every seat by making sure to reach out to the most relevant audience!

2014 TFEA Conference

The 2014 TFEA Conference was an absolute BLAST! Of course it’s going to be awesome when the first thing we had on the agenda was the TFEA Kickoff Fiesta! We had the pleasure of helping to plan the party and were very excited with the way things turned out. It was hosted at Austin’s Saengerrunde Hall and we had live performers including a mariachi band, The Texassippi Two, Texas Renegade, and Coffey Anderson!

Of course that was only the beginning, we also made sure to have a ton of goofy games to really get people laughing and having fun. Who can resist a good Wiggle Race!?

As you can imagine, we had no problem getting this group to be goofy! After everyone enjoyed a full night of games, margaritas, enchiladas, and music, we headed back to the hotel to get a good night’s rest before the educational sessions and trade show. Just in case you were wondering, the Saffire Tattoo Frenzy continued at TFEA!

If you know us, you know that we LOVE giving presentations and providing education in online marketing. The TFEA group had no shortage of people wanting to learn and get involved, so it was great to have the opportunity to do three presentations. One of those presentations may or may not have included a happy hour (shhh…don’t tell!).

After a full day of learning, we had a few more tricks up our sleeve. After all, it wouldn’t be a Texas conference without a Saffire Party! We hosted a “Christmas in July” suite party, complete with Christmas lights and music, reindeer antlers, Santa hats, and our signature “Cup o’ Good Cheer.”

We have to say that our most favorite part of the conference was winning the 2014 TFEA Vendor of the Year award! What an incredible honor it is to be recognized by such an amazing group of people. We could not be more thankful!

All in all, the 2014 TFEA Conference was a huge success! Not only did we get to reconnect with some of our awesome friends and clients in Texas, we got to make new friends in the industry!
