Welcome Cuero Turkeyfest!

Cuero Turkeyfest

The Saffire team had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the folks from the Cuero Turkeyfest at the Texas Events Summit this past January, and we knew it was a match made in heaven from the get go. A storied past including dueling rights to the title, “Turkey Capitol of the World,” that can only be settled with an annual Great Gobbler Gallop (a.k.a. turkey race) with a sister city in Minnesota, was all we needed to hear.  We love a good story, good name and good people, and the Cuero Turkeyfest has all of the above! Welcome to the team!

Welcome Old Sorehead Trade Days!

Old Sorehead Trade Days

It has been a very busy couple of weeks and we’re proud to announce the Old Sorehead Trade Days as one of our newest clients to join the ever growing list of SaffirefaX! With a great name like Old Sorehead Trade Days who couldn’t be excited?  Touting themselves as the best little show in West Texas, Stanton hosts Trade Days three times a year with six days of wonderful shopping. Vendors from all over Texas and the southwest bring  wood crafts, wearable art, hand-poured candles, metal art — the list goes on and on! If you can imagine it, you can find it at Old Sorehead Trade Days.  This group of Texas gals can’t wait to make this road trip!  Welcome to the team!

Welcome Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show!

Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show

We would like to welcome the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show to the Saffire team!  As this event has grown over the years it has become one of the top 10 livestock shows in Texas and hosts visitors from throughout the state to enjoy the parade, rodeo, and many other attractions to compliment the competitive livestock events!  We’ve had the pleasure to get to know the RGVLS team at various conferences and couldn’t be happier to finally call them official partners!

6 Ways to Use Instagram for Your Event

instagramInstagram is a very popular program for sharing photos on smart phones – especially among the younger audiences our events need to reach.

Instagram pictures provide another great way to tell your audience the story of your event. You can promote anything that represents part of your event—from concerts to competitive events to the midway and food.

Here are 6 ways to get started on Instagram and make the most of it to market your event.

#1 Get started now!

Sign up for an account – It takes two minutes. Download the app and simply use your Facebook info to link the accounts. Choose a user name, like your Event’s name, and pick a password. Select any Facebook friends that you’d like to follow on Instagram, and you’re done. Now you are ready to choose some event photos, enhance them using Instagram filters and upload them.

5 Things Events Can Learn from How the Grammys used Social Media

socnetsDid anyone notice that the Grammys really kicked up their social media presence this year, especially Twitter?

As far as event marketing goes, the Grammys are a good one to watch – and they had their second highest ratings in 20 years.

We thought we’d share some quick tips that we noticed, so that you might be able to use social media similarly to increase your event’s “ratings” (your attendance).

1. They posted their hashtag, #GRAMMYS, everywhere!

2.  They didn’t just post social media options at the Grammys, their Twitter and Facebook URLS (as well as their website URL) were posted well before the event in ads, etc. as well as during the event before commercial breaks.

3.  They told customers what they’d get for following, including behind-the-scenes photos and exclusive coverage. (Sound familiar? We always suggest that events do this – you can do this too!)

4. They let people know they were listening. Periodically, LL Cool J would read tweets on the air, and you could do the same at your event.

5. They were active during the event on social media. This is important so you can direct, guide and enhance the conversation, not just relying on your audience.

Think about your event and how you can use the Grammys, one of the biggest global events, to inspire you to kick up your social media presence this year!

Welcome Yolo County Fair!

We had the distinct pleasure of meeting the fine folks from the Yolo County Fair at the Western Fairs Association Convention a few weeks ago, and couldn’t have been more pleased when, just a few short days later, we were welcoming them to the Saffire Family!

The Yolo County Fair is the largest and oldest free gate fair in California, and it maintains this status because of its hundreds of volunteers, community support, sponsorships and partnerships with county businesses and individuals.  Now, we’re proud to call them partners of our own!

Welcome Arizona National Livestock Show!

The Arizona National Livestock Show is the largest Livestock Show in the Southwest, and is the newest addition to the Saffire Team!  We met at the North American Livestock Show and Rodeo Managers Association Convention in Montana over a year ago, which just goes to show that it’s never too late to give us a call.  They represent our first client in the state of Arizona, and we’re thrilled to help them grow their mission online,  to provide support for upcoming generations of agricultural entrepreneurs.  We look forward to helping them celebrate and preserve the heritage of the Arizona Ranching industry!
